Cape Cod Bay still HOT !!
Hello Northeast winds !!!! That’s what were have till Saturday….which is not the best for the bay, so when were got out this morning…we were happy. We left the dock at 8am and headed right to the south edge of Billingates Shoals. We started with umbrella rigs with wire (white/red with silver spoons), but we didn’t mark one fish. We pounded the edge for an hour and a half, but not one hit. We then changed it up and started jigging in 20 feet of water. We had one purple and one black out We started to get some good marks and before you knew it we were tight on the purple jig…..keep-ah in the box. Out went two purple jigs and bang..tight again..as this fish came in…we could see the tail flapping 20 yards back..a great sign of a big…and when she got to the boat…44 inches of pure stripe bass !!! In the box she went just as our 1 foot seas turned to 3 footers and were building. We continued to jig for a bit more and were able to put a 34, 28 and 31 in the box. We then called it a day and pointed the Shannon Sea towards Northside Marine, Sesuit Harbor and settled in for our ride back to the dock.
Back at the dock, pics were taken, the fish were cleaned, bagged and put on ice for many dinners to come.
If you are looking to get out and do some fishing, give me a call and we will make it happen. Folow us on Facebook and our website for pics of our trips. Stay safe and think screaming drags !!
