Cape Cod Bay

capt.mark - 06/20/2012

Today on tuesday we had a late trip. We left Northside Marina at 930am for our 6 hour trip. We headed right to the North Edge of the Billingates. We started with jigging, red and purple were our choices and hit for two shorts. We tossed them  back, and made our way to deeper waters…45-50 ft. We again started jigging and found some big piles of stripers. . Before long…we had a nice 33 inch keeper in the box. Not long after that…Tom had a screamer on…..tail slapping…breaking the water striper…and then 5 feet from the boat…it spit the hook at him…literally…causing the jig to bounce of the t-top !!!  We again continued to fish, but put out deep divers on lead core (8 colors) and again we were hooking up…bass and blue fish.

We continued in the deep water for some time but got a call from capt Russell that the bite was going off out front of Sesuit. We  made a run to the entrance ….however by the time we got there the bite died. We called then called it a day at 330 and headed back home to Northside. We cleaned our catch and brought it up to JC’s cafe (sesuit harbor cafe) were they cooked their fresh fish for them for an early dinner.

If you would like to get out, please give me a call and we can make it happen. Follow us on facebook and our web site. Stay safe and think screaming drags.
