Inshore Slam
The Florida inshore slam consists of catching Snook, Redfish, and trout in the same day! With the cooler water temp’s fishing action has sparked fish of every species, putting the feed bag on with all the pilchard (baitfish) hatch returning to shore in massive numbers. On a recent trip with Chuck Herb ,son Charlie and Renard , scored good numbers of trout ,redfish, and several snook mostly on top-water plugs, jigs with CAL 3″ pilchard imitations, 7″ Berkley jerk baits and of course the pilchards that were big enough to fish as most are small but great for live-chumming! there are some nice sized baits mixed in with them we saved a lot of them for the big breeder redfish and snook as these are snook candy this time of year . We drifted for the trout in broken bottom areas (sand+grasss pothole areas),fished holes and sawgrass for the reds and snook, also near some deep channels, and oyster bars we lost count of our catch mostly trout and red’s the water was very clean in the area we fished, nice south east to south west wind during the day. WE started out at Anclote Key then worked our way back to the main shoreline as the tide came in and changed to go out unforgettable needless to say every-one was all smiles at end!
