The bunker have moved into the Western LI Sound and are simply everywhere.  Many of the open water schools are holding huge striped bass.

The morning trip was cut short by the storms that moved through.  Jordan Wergiles landed a solid 18lb striper and a much larger fish has hooked and lost during the fight.  The group missed the best part of the bite while waiting at the dock for the storms to pass.

The bite during second trip in the early evening was one of the best in several years.  Most of the other fishermen in the west were burned out from the long weekend and there were only a handful of boats on the water.  The bite was lock and load for two solid hours with the largest striper at just over 28lbs.  The fish count was lost somewhere past a dozen.  There were only a few small bluefish mixed in.
